Since my hysterectomy in 2015 I have managed to put on about 10 and at times 15 pounds despite exercise and intermittent fasting.  I understand the benefits of intermittent fasting, however, it wasn’t working for me.  I continued to do it because of the benefits.  Keto did not work well for me either.  This is where bio-individuality comes in – what works for one person may not work for another.  I am also gluten, dairy, carrageenan, pretty much everything free, and follow Eating Right For Your Blood Type.

I started researching and found PFC Every 3.  This resonated with me.  Why?  Because I eat every three hours and that is giving me a balanced system resulting in weight loss and other amazing things!

What is PFC Every 3?

PFC is an acronym that stands for Protein, Fats, and Carbohydrates. It is the best way to turn your body into a FAT BURNING machine. Nourishing your body with the right portions and proportions of P, F, and C every 3 hours supports stabilized blood sugar, increased energy, improved mood, and balanced hormones. Eating real, natural foods supports gut health and your immune system. Eating PFC is for people of every age and activity level.

Mark Macdonald sums up this tricky balance:

“Every time you skip a meal, your blood sugar drops and you burn muscle, and that slows down your metabolism. And every time you overeat, your blood sugar spikes and you store fat. Nutrition should be used to create internal balance. This is what separates maintaining stable blood sugar from dieting.”

By eating PFC Every 3 our bodies can process a certain amount of food at once, which is why it needs to be consistently fed.  Mark refers to the body as a “refuel as it goes” machine.  “The most important thing is you should be ready to eat before a meal (never starving), satisfied after a meal (not full), and then ready to eat again approximately three to four hours later,” he says. “This is a clear indicator that your blood sugar is stable and your body is in balance.”

What Do My Meals Look Like?

I eat 5 to 6 small meals per day.  A breakfast for me consists of one whole egg, 1 oz of egg whites, spinach, mushrooms, avocado oil, and 1 slice of gluten-free toast.  I eat the breakfast around 9.  I am so used to intermittent fasting it is difficult to eat any earlier than that.  I pre-make my meals the night before and batch cook as much as I can.  My lunch consists of 3 oz of chicken and veggies, small salad with 1-2 tablespoons of dressing.  I like Primal Earth and Braggs dressings.  My next snack or meal can be the following:  apple and cheese, celery with 1-2 tablespoons of peanut butter, protein shake, jerky with nuts and fruit, or hardboiled egg with fruit.  My dinner consists of another 3 oz of chicken and veggies.  I also love to add some avocado wherever I can!

Six meals a day may seem unrealistic at first, but once you get the hang of it, you will notice amazing results!  So far I have lost 7 lbs.  I have increased energy, better sleep, less stress, and the list goes on!  Remember exercise needs to be an important part of the PFC Every 3 regimen.  Mark recommends 30 minutes of exercise, four days a week.  Stable blood sugar releases stored fat and exercise burns that fat.  I ride my spin bike in the morning and walk the dog in the evening as an example.

When you stabilize your blood sugar and optimize your exercise, you can achieve any health goal. Let PFC Every 3 take your body to the next level!  If you would like support in this area please contact me. I would be honored to guide you on your journey!
